Hello, my name is yoon-jae
Your next Photographer
I’m a film and digital photographer based in Columbus, Ohio, and a PhD student in Neuroscience at The Ohio State University. My days are usually spent in the lab or behind a camera, but both spaces are driven by the same curiosity and attention to detail. When I’m not working, you can usually find me exploring new restaurants, listening to music, watching Formula 1, or cheering on the Buckeyes.
I’m Korean and speak English, Korean, and French, which has deeply shaped how I connect with others. Growing up multilingual and immersed in different cultures has given me a strong appreciation for storytelling, human connection, and the beauty found in everyday moments.
What I love most about photography is getting to meet new people and turning life’s milestones—both big and small—into timeless, meaningful art. Whether it’s an engagement, graduation, or a moment that simply deserves to be remembered, I feel incredibly lucky to document stories that will be cherished for years to come. Photography has taught me to slow down, be present, and truly savor the moment, and my hope is to offer that same experience to you.
My photography philosophy

My approach to photography is rooted in kindness, connection, and creativity. I believe the best images come from genuine moments, so I focus on making people feel comfortable, confident, and truly themselves in front of the camera. While I’m extremely organized and detail-oriented behind the scenes, I’m also very go-with-the-flow during sessions—creating a fun, relaxed experience that allows natural moments to unfold, all while capturing thoughtful, artistic, and timeless imagery.
